How does a bird drown in a toilet?

Question is how did the bird even get in the bathroom?

Today at work we found a bird in the toilet, sadly the bird had drowned. I would guess it was a baby bird living in our building. You could hear it annoyingly squawking in our back room. I'm still baffled by how it got in the toilet. Sad day.
